The 112th AAA Annual Meeting will be held at the Chicago Hilton, Renaissance Blackstone and Essex Inn Hotel in Chicago, IL November 20–24, 2013. Registration and additional information is available online at www.aaanet.org/meetings.
The 2013 online annual meeting program offers the most up-to-date schedule information, refined search and display features:
• Full list of sessions, roundtables, workshops, installations, and special events
• Full abstracts, viewable only by registrants
• Scheduling tool where registrants can select program events to create personal schedules and enter personal appointments
For the most up-to-date schedule information while in Chicago download the AAA Annual Meeting Mobile Application “AAA2013.” The mobile app syncs directly with your personal schedule from our online program and includes information about meeting attendees, participants, sponsors, exhibitors and other essentials for navigating the Chicago meeting. The mobile app will work on iPad, iPhone, android phones and android tablets.
All members who submitted annual meeting proposals have been emailed letters of acceptance or rejection. If you are a session participant and have not yet heard about your session, contact your session organizer or the meetings department at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you submitted an individually volunteered paper or poster and have not received a letter please contact the meetings department at email@example.com.
You can pre-register online for the meeting, salons and workshops at www.aaanet.org until September 27. If you registered for the meeting when submitting a session, paper or poster proposal, you do not have to register again. Advance registrants can pick up registration materials at the Chicago Hilton, Lower Level beginning at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 20. Be sure to bring your receipt. Onsite registration will be available Wednesday, November 20, 10:00 am through Saturday, November 23, 2:00 pm at the Chicago Hilton.
Cancellation requests received by email or fax by October 15 will be eligible for a refund. After October 15, registrants will no longer be eligible for refunds or credits. Registration fees will not be refunded to presenters who cancel their participation in the program at any time. Refunds will be processed after the meeting.
Booking a room in any of the AAA meeting hotels—where the association has negotiated special room rates and prime meeting space for the program—is an important way to support AAA and help keep meeting costs as low as possible. Staying at the meeting hotels is also convenient and helps you stay connected with informal activities and networking opportunities during the meeting. ACCENT on Children’s Arrangements will provide childcare during the 2013 AAA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL. ACCENT is an internationally recognized company that provides onsite children’s activities in a nurturing, safe, educational environment. ACCENT employs professional supervisors who are CPR and Pediatric First Aid Certified. The non-refundable pre-registration fee is $10 per child. The program will be available Wednesday through Sunday. Space is limited, so please register early. The hourly rate for children ages 6–36 months is $12, with a three-hour minimum. The hourly rate for children ages 3–12 years is $10, with a three-hour minimum. Advance registration is required by October 31, 2013. See www.aaanet.org/meetings for more details.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the Opening Reception on Thursday at 5:00 pm in the exhibit hall. This is an opportunity to start networking early, interact with organizations exhibiting at the 2013 Annual Meeting, meet new members, see old friends and get in touch with colleagues that you frequently email. Don’t miss the association’s general Business Meeting that follows the reception. Stick around after the Business Meeting for the AAA Awards Ceremony. On Friday at 6:15 pm make sure to attend the Presidential Lecture delivered by AAA President Leith Mullings (Graduate Center—CUNY).
